|||||Rediculous thoughts - The Cranberries||]|
Hey everyone. Yesterday was pretty cool. I was bummed that we couldn't have practice, but I did get to go to my cousin's third birthday party. While I was there I found out that my youth minister's daughter was friends with my cousin and I kinda got a kick out of that. After the party my grandmother took me to Cato and bought me a pair of jeans which look awesome. Nothing too special, just light colored semi-tight jeans. They look good on me though. Then she dropped me off at Wal-mart where I met up with my dad and he gave me 40 dollars to spend (35 from a check my aunt and uncle gave me and 5 from chores around the house). I bought three cds, one of which I'm listening to right now. I Bought The best of The Cure, The best of The Cranberries (the one im listening to now), and the new Modest Mouse cd (I'm in love with the song "Ocean breathes salty"). After that I went back and found my dad. I also found out that he was getting tires changed and the wait would be really long so I went back and walked around, finally going to the cd section again. When I was there I found the new Yeah Yeah Yeah's cd. I had heard that it was their sell-out album so I checked it out juts to make sure. I had been a Yeah Yeah Yeahs fan for a while and had heard earlier songs form the band and loved it. I checked it out and to my suprise it rocked. The only one even close to a sell-out song was "Maps" which I love. I was happy. But I was also broke and the three cds I had bought were in the car that was about to be worked on. "Oh well." I figured. "At least I like the cds I got." I then picked up the Breaking Benjamin cd. I had liked the song "So cold" that I heard on the radio form them, but I assumed they were an okay-but-not-so-cool-screamy-disturbed-korn-like-band. I decided to play that cd and was suprised once again because, it too, was awesome. I would highly advise any rock fan to pick it up. They're pretty cool. I decided to look around, once more, for anything form Death Cab for Cutie, figuring I'd find something since I had ALREADY spent all of my money. No luck. I was bummed but happy at the same time. It would have sucked majorly if I had found something form them after all that looking before. But then I hit the G's and found something I NEVER see at wal-mart. Dizzy up the girl from The Goo-Goo Dolls. One of the best cd's from one of the best band's of all time in my opinion. THEN I was officailly bummed. I figured I'd never see it again after that day so I listened to the samples of the songs over and over and sang along to them, enjoying it while I could. heh. But I really can't complain, I do have three new awesome cds. I REALLY love my Cranberries cd. It has all the best ones, including my faveorite, Zombie.
When I got home I got on my computer for about 20 minutes then ate, and left off for the "Empty Chair" concert. Empty Chair played, Ash and I at the front of the stage the entire time, being star-strucked by Ben continuously walking up right in front of us while playing his bass and looking straight at us, and or smiling. We felt so cool. The concert rocked. One of the best yet. After Empty Chair played, we went outside for an intermission and found that most of Ash's Empty Chair necklaces we're sold. Once again we were happy. We got something to drink and went back to the concert right when the headliner came on. A white rapper Called "Jayjee." And once again I was suprised... He wasn't that bad. I actually enjoyed it. He was pretty good, but what really blew my mind was this chick named Lindsy that was singing with him. She had an amazing voice. And she was an alto so that just added to it. After the concert I got a V.I.P. pass and hung out with the band while they signed T-shirts and hands and stuff. Then I went to the afterparty and hung out with mostly Ash, Ben, Cory, Daisy and Matt Brock. The party was alright but the real fun started when we all went out in the hall and blasted Thousand Foot Krutch. I'm not a big TFK fan, but after non-stop rap and R&B music I was happy to hear something I could band my head to and sing along with.
So yeah...leave a comment because I left lots of things to comment on.
